Description
The String of Pearls (Senecio rowleyanus) is originally from Africa, where the plant grows as a creeping vine. Indoors it’s an ideal hanging plant. Place it on a shelf or the edge of a closet, and allow the vines to dangle downwards. Are you looking to expand your Senecio-family? Good news: it’s super easy to propagate!
Place the String of Pearls in a light spot, in filtered sunlight. Water the plant once a week, and give just enough to moisten the potting soil. During winter you only need to water it once every two weeks. Make sure not to overwater it, to prevent excess of water at the bottom of the pot. We recommend placing a layer of hydro granules at the bottom of the pot, so it won’t matter if you accidentally overwater it. This is the best way of preventing root rot.
