    Description

The variegated Maranta is in fact the variegated version of the Maranta Leuconera KerchoveanaIts leaves are decorated with the Maranta’s classic dark spots and white variegation. Just like other variegated plants, the variegated Maranta will need a bit of extra care.

The Maranta is also known as ‘prayer plant’. This name refers to the movements it makes throughout the day: it opens its leaves in the morning to catch sunlight, and it’ll fold the leaves upwards in the evening. This movement is quite similar to that of praying hands, which resulted in its nickname.

Place the variegated Maranta in a semi shady spot, clear of direct sunlight. Make sure the potting soil is always mildly moist, but not wet. It’s best to water the plant regularly, and to give small amounts of water each time. Just enough to moisten the potting soil.
